This is my spread from the juried book "Studio Visit 53." The lead time from acceptance to published book is pretty long so one correction to this is I'm no longer affiliated with Jane Hamilton Fine Art. Otherwise, all is good and I'm as always happy to be included.

My show "Changes, comparing the environments and life of my birth state, Texas, and my adopted home state of New Mexico, was on view September through October 11, 2025, at Ro2 Art Gallery in Dallas, TX.

This is my image used as one of the Winter 2025-26 Taos is Art Lampost Banners. The banner images are juried and chosen from Taos artists' entries.

One of my paintings is a part of this year's Taos is Art Banner Competition. Here are pics. First, the banner in place, second the banner itself, and third the painting, "New Years Day."

Tracy Miller Gallery

This is the most recent painting sold by Tracy Miller at her gallery in Manitou Springs, Colorado. I have shown work there since 2015-ish. Tracy has decided to close the gallery and concentrate on her own work. It was a good experience and thanks to Tracy for having me and working so hard on my and all of her artists' behalf.

This is "Jackrabbit and Rocks", 24 by 18 inches, acrylic on canvas.

New Year

These drawings are framed up and ready to go to Copper Moon Gallery in Taos, NM.
These images are used on the gallery holiday card. "New Bird" and "New Flower", ink and watercolor on paper, each 9 by 12 inches.

Reboot

I haven't taken care of this blog in a long time, but I want to get back to it. There has been a lot of cool stuff happening since I last wrote, successful one person shows, acceptance into published books, lots of art made.

I will try to catch everything up, but it will take awhile and probably will take the form of "Flashback Friday" or something like that. I don't know if anyone reads this, but it doesn't matter, I'm putting it out there anyway.

But for now, two of my paintings will be in the Bath House Cultural Center's new exhibition, "Second Seating" opening this Saturday, 7 - 9pm, December 1. This is a link to the invitation.

They are "Small Plump Rocker" and "Small Slim Rocker" each 7 by 5 inches, acrylic on panel. The show is about chairs, and idea by and curated by sculptor Terri Stone. I have always, even since by tiny childhood, preferred rocking chairs. I had a small one when I was a kid, and I have four now, one outdoors.

Blogging, or lack thereof.

Obviously, blogging on a regular basis isn't something I seem to be able to do. Most of my activity is on Facebook, on my Art Page, Instagram, Twitter, Ello and Pinterest. If you're reading this and you are interested in what I'm up to it might be better to follow me on one of those sites. I'll check into this one when I can, but that doesn't seem to have worked out too well so far. So see you there.

Oak Cliff Speedbump Art Tour

The annual Oak Cliff Speedbump Art Tour came around again this year, always a fun event. Below are some of the photos of my stop on the tour.

"Icons of the West"

"Jackrabbit Peak" (24 by 12 inches, acrylic on canvas) will be included in the juried show "Icons of the West" at the Dana Gallery in Missoula, Montana, opening Friday May 15 and continuing until June 15.

Dallas Art Fair

Dallas has an annual art fair that attracts galleries from around the U.S. and the world. Ro2 Art, my home gallery, has had a booth in it the last two years, and this time my work was included, since I joined them this year.

Below are photos I took while visiting the Fair. Some are my wall at the Ro2 booth and some are pieces that caught my attention. If I know the artist I've listed the names, if not I haven't. Apologies to anyone overlooked.

This is "Elizabeth Barrett Browning", which I'm happy to report sold at the Fair.


I enjoyed seeing this piece, by one of my favorite painters, Wolf Kahn.


I don't know who did this, but I enjoyed the Velazquez reference.


This beautiful portrait is by an artist also unfortunately unknown to me. I should take better notes.


I loved this painting of hikers, "Walkers on Ladle Hill" by Benjamin Senior.


I don't know who did this, but I think I see a rooster in there.


Again, I don't know the artist, but I do like the painting.


Ditto.


Some small but amazing urban landscapes by Rod Penner.


I also liked the minimalist landscape paintings by Gregory Botts.


And finally, this unfortunately out of focus piece by Ro2 gallery mate Erica Stephens. My photography is often found wanting, but I wanted to included it anyway.

Busy days.

I haven't been here in awhile and part of that is because of many things have been happening. Here are some of them.

This piece is called "Hill Country Oriole" and it's acrylic on panel, 8 by 10 inches.


I painted it as a trade for this beautiful and amazing wooden bowl created by woodsman Danny Kamerath, former graphic designer and now worker in wood living in Kerrville, Texas.

I added the rock at Danny's suggestion to, as he put it, "complete the piece".

Below are a couple of other recent paintings. "Cool River", acrylic/canvas, 14 by 18 inches, is at Tracy Miller Gallery in Manitou Springs, Colorado.
Below it is "Jackrabbit Peak", acrylic/canvas, 24 by 12 inches. It's future is yet to be determined.





Finally, the Dallas Art Fair is happening this weekend. This link shows the work being shown in the booth of my new Dallas home gallery, Ro2 Art. I'll be reporting from the scene probably Saturday. When I'll write about it here is anybody's guess.
