"Squabbling Magpies" at home

The new owner of "Squabbling Magpies" sent this photo of the painting in its new place, with a couple of cute kids mimicking the birds' quarrelsome pose.

New homes

Three more collectors have kindly sent images of my work on their walls.

One is "Piedra de Caballero", below that is "Gallo Caesar" and then "Gallo Augustus". Thanks to everyone for their generosity and for sending these photos. It's always fun to see the work being enjoyed.

Cattle at home

Over the holidays I was priviledged to have the opportunity to see two of my paintings from the Cattle Series at their homes. They hang catty-cornered (cattle-cornered? Sorry) from each other.

New habitats

Recently, I've had the opportunity to see a couple of my paintings in their new homes.
Here are a couple of views of "Opossum and Fireflies".
"Big Rock from New Mexico" is nestled on a hearth surrounded by pots and objects acquired from, appropriately enough, New Mexico.

"A Magpie" at home

A collector purchased "A Magpie" at my stop on the Speedbump Art Tour and was kind enough to send a photo of it installed. It hangs in a window looking out on her garden. This was taken at night, I think, so here the garden can't be seen, but the "Magpie" can. Nice collection of clay pots below it. Thanks to its new owner for sending the photo. I always love to see them.

"Autumn Hill" at home

"Autumn Hill", acrylic on canvas, 24 by 20 inches, here in its new home. Nice harmonious wall color, I think.

Their (for the time being) homes...

Here are "Outside Ouray" and "Eldorado Hill" in their on-loan placement in a cool office space.

They are both large-ish, at least for me, at 4 by 5 feet and 3 by 4 feet, respectively. Although I think they hold the space well, they still seem smaller as compared to standing directly in front of them. Especially considering the time required to paint something of that size. Again, at least for me.

"Charles Baudelaire" and "Vortex Tour" at home.

Here are "Charles Baudelaire" and "Vortex Tour" hanging in the home of the collectors who now own them. The "Baudelaire" hangs beneath another work I don't know anything about. It works well with the blue wall and the colors in the other work.
"Vortex Tour" is on this deep purple wall, which helps it appear to glow. It's 30 by 24 inches, which is hard to ascertain without any context, such as furniture and such.

"Mini Takka"

At the top of this photo is "Mini Takka" on the wall of its very neat and clean home.

"Eli" print...

I admit, this is a stretch, almost literally. But if you crane your head to the left and look past that "vent-a-hood" you can see a framed "Eli" print in the kitchen of a vacation house in Houesville, France, on the Normandy coast.

"Outside" - the "Mystery Project" revealed

Last night, June 17, Medical City Hospital in Dallas opened their new Childrens' Hospital wing with a big to-do including my painting "Outside", which hangs in the first floor reception area.
My reasoning for the title, other than the obvious reference to the imagery, is that being "outside" is equivalent with being healthy. "Outside" in the fresh air, running, playing, all those things we associate with kids being outside, and what being treated in the hospital and getting better will help us get back to. That's what I was thinking, anyway.
Here are some photos of the affair, which included a very nice steak dinner, and some elements in the waiting/reception area.
All three dimensional elements were created by the Museum Arts company of Dallas.

This is the "official" professionally photographed image of "Outside", as opposed to my previous shots from my own camera. The painting is 36 by 60 inches, acrylic on canvas.

"Outside" is at the end of a long hallway leading to the elevators to treatment facilities.

Art at home

These are two pieces on the wall of their owner in Dallas. They were originally shown at the Boyd Gallery at my "Road Trips" show in 2001.
They are oil pastel on board.

Their new homes

Once in a while I have the privilege of seeing my paintings hanging in their new environments.
